When did District 10 first become a City Council district? Up until the 1971 election, there were only 9 City Council districts. After the redistricting from the 1970 census, there were 11 districts (obviously one of them was #10!) and the first 2 at-large councilpersons.

What are the boundaries of District 10? At the time of its founding, the District's northern border was Colfax Ave. while the southern border was Sixth Avenue. The 1980 redistricting moved the southern boundary south from 6th Ave. south to Speer Blvd / First Ave., but the district did not include the Cherry Creek neighborhood and shopping districts. The 1992 redistricting brought the Cherry Creek area into the district. Today, after the most recent redistricting, the southern and western boundary follows Cherry Creek (the Creek) from Colorado Boulevard to Speer and Colfax. The eastern boundary is a bit more complicated. It is Colorado Blvd. from Cherry Creek Drive North to 9th Ave, east to Dahlia, north to 13th then east to Fairfax, south one block to 12th Ave. and east again to Hudson, north on Hudson to Colfax.
